Uthmaan
01 / AI PRODUCT BUILDER

Left law. Never looked back.

I have a law degree and, if I'm honest, no real interest in ever using it the way it was meant to be used. What I actually enjoy is building — AI products, for my own ventures, for clients, for whoever needs something that works and isn't just good enough to survive a demo.

Manifesto

01
Never surrender your agency. Guard it jealously.
02
Refine your taste continuously. It is how you stand out from the multitude.
03
Things change only to remain the same. Never be swayed by fads and do not close your eyes to change.
04
There is no height too high for you to reach if you can afford the compounding cost.
05
Don't be you, be the best version of you.
03 / Who
Uthmaan Zakariyya

Law degree, 2018 — and I never really used it, not the way anyone expected me to. Somewhere along the way building software turned out to be more interesting than filing briefs, so I taught myself to do it properly and just kept going.

These days that means running two things at once: I'm the founding product lead at SendEva, a pre-launch AI commerce platform for vendors and retailers across the Gulf, and I also run Fivestick, an AI automation consultancy building bespoke agents for the kind of businesses generic SaaS was never built for.

And on the side, because I can't really help it, I build my own things too — a transcription bot people actually pay for, a translation extension I made because I love having a peep into other cultures, and a macOS app I now use every single day to control my computer by pointing at it instead of typing.

Problem
I wanted to benefit from religious lectures delivered in Arabic and extend the opportunity to many people who wanted the same and still struggle with the language like me.
Designed
A paid Telegram bot — send audio or video, get a segmented transcript back. I built the whole stack myself: bot, database, ASR/LLM pipeline, billing, ops, all of it.
Outcome
It's been live and running smoothly since day one, with people actually paying for it.

Problem
Youtube auto-generated captions are terrible and I love having a peep into other cultures. So I built Bayan.
Designed
A browser extension that drops translated captions straight into YouTube's own toolbar — same look, better translation underneath.
Outcome
Live, and in daily use by people who just want better captions without installing a whole new app.
"The tool should not stand in the way of its function."

Status
Prototype, daily use
Problem
I kept losing time switching over to some tutorial just to figure out a new tool. I wanted to point at the thing I didn't understand instead, and just ask.
Designed
A macOS app that watches where I'm pointing and listens to what I'm saying, then runs it through an agent that actually controls the desktop for me.
Outcome
Never shipped it publicly. Still the first thing I open most days.
"The only proof a tool is worth anything is that you keep reaching for it."
